Developing Women to
Strengthen Our Communities

For more than 80 years, the JLM has responded to the needs of our community. We have awarded millions of dollars and countless volunteer hours to worthy organizations in Montgomery.

Our focus area is "strengthening families." Our members are committed to improving the lives of others with programs that address areas such as parenting, health and well-being, early childhood intervention, life skills development, domestic violence, education and children and youth in general.

Our membership of more than 800 women contributes over 20,000 hours in volunteer services each year. (read more)

 Rebuilding Together Community Placement

The Junior League of Montgomery has partnered with Rebuilding Together and other local community groups to offer free home repairs to low income elderly and/or disabled families living in Montgomery. This is a long running program in its 14th year and the goal was to serve over 50 homeowners on Saturday, April 26th. The Junior League of Montgomery granted $5,000 to the project and utilized approximately 15 volunteers. The Junior League volunteers focused on one home off of the Southern Blvd. They made many improvements in the home including kitchen cabinet repairs, installed a new bath with a transfer chair, replaced fascia boards, repaired the roof and ceiling damage, and repaired several doors. In addition, the crew took on Bath Aftermowing and weed-eating the lawn! The crew had wonderful help from several husbands and two carpenters who regularly volunteer with RT. The homeowner, Mrs.Rogers, was thrilled with the improvements to her home and called her new Junior League friends, “gifts from God.”
